In 1989, Pat Ma and her family emigrated to Canada. This was a major physical change, but her passion to create a posture correcting bra remained the same. In 1990, she opened the first BodiBra Lingerie store in Toronto. Word of mouth of the instant body transformation and excellent personal attention each customer received began to spread, and soon enough her business grew to over 9 stores throughout Canada.
The Queen of Bodibra
Pat's popularity in the market soared, and she soon earned a reputation as the "Queen of Body Bra". In the early days, her customers started with mainly Chinese ladies but soon grew to include American, Asian and European customers.
Due to the success and popularity of BodiBra Lingerie in Canada, Pat's keen business sense saw her return to Hong Kong where she was invited to open her first shop in Asia by her loyal and satisfied customers. In 2003, the first BodiBra Lingerie store in Asia was opened in Tsimshatsui, Hong Kong.
As at 2008, over 45 BodiBra Lingerie stores are found in Hong Kong, Macau, China, Singapore and Canada with total employees over 250.
Strive to develop expertise
True to her innovative spirit and quest for excellence, Pat continued her research and development into innovative undergarment technology referring to successes such as Lacoco from Japan and other famous international brands. This bra-fitting expert then proceeded to study human anatomy especially spinal health in relation to breast enhancement and body contouring.
With her vast experience and years of learning, Pat decided to spread her valuable knowledge by opening her own school and training her own Personal Body Beauty Consultants. Potential business partners and franchisees have to undergo the same training so they have a thorough understanding of the business.
With over 300 functional designs, BodiBra products and matching accessories are manufactured by BodiBra Lingerie Group in its own factory in Hong Kong and China to ensure that all BodiBra products are produced using the highest quality materials.
